1- They don’t waste time on self-pity.

Indulging in self-pity is a waste of time that creates negative emotions and damages relationships: in short, it prevents us from living fully. The key is “to affirm the good in the world and you will begin to appreciate what you have”, replacing it with gratitude.

2- They do not give away their power.

Lacking physical and emotional boundaries between yourself and others, you can end up losing control of your actions for the benefit of others, which define your success and your self-esteem. It is important, therefore, to remain firmly anchored to one’s goals and work to achieve them.

3- They do not avoid changes.

Making changes can be scary, but it’s necessary to grow. Strong people accept and live the five steps of change – pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action and maintenance.

4- They don’t focus on things they can’t control.

The tendency to want to have everything under control is probably a response to anxiety, which can make life difficult for us. Better to shift our attention to the environment, focusing on what we can do, or what we really control.

5- They don’t care to please everyone.

For four good reasons: it’s a waste of time; people’s tastes are easily manipulated; there is nothing wrong with others feeling angry or disappointed; we cannot and must not satisfy everyone.

6- They do not dwell on the past.

It is right to reflect on the lessons learned from the past, considering the facts rather than the emotions, especially from a new perspective. However, lingering too much on the past can be self-destructive, because it prevents us from enjoying the present and planning for the future.

7- They do not surrender to the first failure.

Rising up after a defeat makes you stronger: success, in fact, is not easy to reach or immediate. It is good then to accept the possibility of failure, and move forward.

8- No immediate results are expected.

You need to have realistic expectations and be aware that success does not happen quickly. Mentally weak people are often impatient, overestimate their abilities and underestimate how long they take changes.

9- Self-control.

We agree that self-control is a quality very difficult to conquer … and accept their feelings and not be dominated by them is commendable!

Even though it is not an easy task to apply, self-control basically consists of a matter of practice, concentration and life experience.
